Morning Work Book (MWB)
Students explained 3 different ways to make group decisions.

Science
The students have had their fifth day working on science/literacy centers. They will continue with this center for the next few days and then we will rotate.
Centers:
1.Visual Vocabulary
2.Life of a Tree (tree cookies)
3.Legends

Math
We reviewed the box method and practiced multiplication 3 -digit by 1-digit and then worked on using the standard algorithm as a more efficient method. As part of our science study we are accessing the City of Calgary website - environment-urban forestry management and collecting data about trees in our neighborhood. Students will work toward adding/multiplying numbers with decimals.

Social Studies
All the grade 6 students joined together to begin our work around Social Action. We read 'One Hen' and discussed the ideas around the concept employed in the story.
