Math
Discussed large numbers with relation to the most recent snowfall in Calgary. We are working on numbers up to 1 trillion.

Science
The students are working on science/literacy centers focused on: tree cookies, vocabulary and legends. Ask about specific tasks and expectations for each center.
We looked at the City of Calgary Website to gather information about the types of trees located on our school ground. Students read and discussed an article about the past snowfall and compared it to 'Snowtember' snow storm of September 2014.

Tree/snowfall article and questions. Students also made connections to our read aloud book 'Ugly'.
