Tuesday October 1st

Yesterday we fully enjoyed our Dare to Care - Take the Time day. The students learned valuable information about themselves and their classmates.We discussed the difference between being rude, mean and bullying. Our activities focused on the differences between positive and negative interactions/decisions/behaviors. Ask your child about 'Nick'. We will continue to use these concepts/language and ideas as we move forward in grade 6. 

Science
Today we learned about tree cookies and how to read the life of a tree by the information in a tree section. Students labelled the parts of the tree cookie and discussed the function of bark.

Orange Shirt Day 
Today we honored and remembered the effects of Residential Schools on First Nations peoples and read the story "I'm Not A Number". 

Math
The students worked on reading, writing and expanding large numbers up to 100 billion.
